This peach banana cottage cheese smoothie is a perfect snack or breakfast for kids and adults. Cottage cheese gives an extra boost of protein!
My kids devour these smoothies and don’t have any idea that they contain cottage cheese. They’re enamored by a couple of their favorite fruits paired with sweet, sweet honey. Who wouldn’t love that?
Yogurt is great in smoothies, but don’t you think it’s time you try something new?
Be sure to use frozen bananas for an extra thick smoothie! If you don’t know how, learn the best way to freeze bananas.
Make This Smoothie Recipe Your Own
Smoothies are easy to change and adapt to your preferences. Here are some ideas:
- Use different types of fruit. As long as you keep the ratios roughtly the same, you’ll be good! Try classic strawberry and banana or put a tropical spin on things with mango and pineapple.
- Powerhouse add-ins. We keep this smoothie relatively basic, but you can amp things up by adding any number of things. Consider flax, hemp, or chia seeds. Increase the protein with a scoop of your favorite protein powder. Add bee pollen. The options are endless!
- Add vegetables. Smoothies are a great place to sneak in some vegetables. Try a handful of spinach or a frozen cauliflower.

This peach banana cottage cheese smoothie is a perfect snack or breakfast for kids and adults. Cottage cheese gives an extra boost of protein!
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, frozen
- 2 heaping cups frozen peach slices
- 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup milk (I use nonfat but any type of milk will work)
- 2 tablespoons honey, or to taste
Instructions
Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
Serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute another fruit for the peaches.
- The riper the banana, the sweeter the smoothie will be.
- If the banana isn’t frozen, the consistency of the smoothie will be thinner.

Can you freeze? My Mom is on a pureed diet and I am trying to find things I can make ahead for her caregivers to give her during the day. TY

That should work! It might need a quick blend again when it’s thawed to re-combine everything, but I think it will be fine.

Ok. Where do I get those cute glasses with the straws?

Rachel Gurk says
I think I got those from Zulily, but I found some similar ones on Amazon (affiliate links, no extra cost to you!): These look nearly identical, these come with a super cute carrier, these are also very similar, and these have fun colorful straws but the lids don’t have holes. Hope that helps!

I think those were a lucky Target dollar spot find! These are very similar, though.

Oh I like this idea! Can people taste the cottage cheese? Do you drink this before you exercise? (I’m a runner)

I couldn’t taste the cottage cheese at all and Ben didn’t know it was in there! And he kept drinking it even after he found out. ;) Not sure about drinking it before running…I’m definitely not a running expert. I think it would be a great post-workout drink though because of all the protein in it.

Never in a billion years would I think of putting cottage cheese in a smoothie! What a great idea with these flavors too. And your kids are so darn cute I can barely take it.

Your babies are adorable and that party sounds like a blast! I’ve never seen a smoothie made with cottage cheese. If the kids and your husband didn’t know it was there, maybe it is the new yogurt!
