What’s in this Pepper Jelly Dip Recipe
The flavor is a unique blend of spicy, sweet, savory, and creamy. Spicy jalapeño pepper jelly plus cool cream cheese equals the perfect simple yet delicious taste!
- Cream Cheese: It needs to be softened so it mixes easily with the jelly.
- Jalapeño Pepper Jelly: Use more or less depending on how spicy you’d like your dip to be.
PRO TIP: Regular cream cheese will yield the thickest, creamiest results. You can use low-fat cream cheese, but your consistency will be a little different.
Is jalapeño jelly dip spicy?
Yes, but I don’t think it’s too hot! The cream cheese keeps things pretty tame and the jelly has a lot of sweetness in it to help balance that heat.

What is pepper jelly?
Pepper jelly, as the name implies, is made with peppers–bell peppers, jalapeño peppers, habaneros or any other pepper (or combination of peppers). It’s thickened with pectin, and often also includes sugar and vinegar. Pepper jelly can be red hot and spicy, or mild with just a small hit of heat, so read the label to get an idea of what to expect.
Can I make pepper jelly dip without a mixer?
A mixer helps create a velvety smooth dip, but if you’re good with a whisk or a spatula, you can get pretty close. Just make sure the cream cheese is quite soft, so that it mixes easily.
Is pepper jelly a southern thing?
It sure is! While this condiment originated in the south, though, it’s grown in popularity all over the country.
How to Store
In an airtight container in the freezer, pepper jelly dip will stay fresh for up to 2 days. You may need to give it an extra stir before serving if it’s been in the fridge for a while.
Serving Suggestions
This is one of my favorite cold dip recipes for game day and parties. I like to keep it simple with simple crackers when I’m in a rush, but you serve whatever crackers you have on hand–whole-grain hearty crackers, or fancy, buttery crackers, or even pretzels. It’s great paired with raw veggies too! It’s a great way to spice up the typical party vegetable tray or charcuterie board.
